Lovely

A big thank you to Fondlers Anonymous and reneerose for the honor of naming me on their Lovely Blog Award list. Bratty Addy and slightly naughty princess also gave me shout outs for the award. All great ladies with wonderful blogs.

As I understand it, I am supposed to list 7 things you don't know about me and then nominate 15 bloggers I like.  Seven things you may not know about me is harder then you might think, cause I tell everything on my blog already. I'm gonna give it a try though, cause I'm nosy and I love to find out more about the friends I visit with, so tit for tat so to speak.

1. I'm terrified of public speaking and would voluntarily stand naked before a crowd if it meant I didn't have to speak.  The blank comment box on blogs sometimes has this effect on me too.

2. I don't live by the rules, I make my own as I go.

3. I'm an eternal optimist.

4. My children say I love the dog more then I love them. I say that's because the dog listens and doesn't talk back when I tell him something.  My children would make great lawyers, cause then they would get paid to argue.

5. I have a green thumb, but only with potted plants.

6. I sleep very little and eat even less, but don't mess with my coffee.

7. I like my gray hair and have even learned to love my skunk stripe in the front.

8. I'm a woman with a past, yet I'm very naive about some things.

9. I've had sex with more men then I can count, but I've been in a monogamous relationship for almost 27 years now. I much prefer monogamy.

10. I'm a middle child that identifies as a first child due to the way I was raised.

11. I bought my home because it has floor to ceiling bookshelves. When I was single I moved on the average of every 7 months, the one thing I always took with me was my books.

12. I don't believe in getting revenge, but I do believe in Karma. It will get ya, ya know.

13. Blogging sometimes makes me feel like the little kid on the playground who wants to play with the big kids and the big kids aren't interested. I find this ironic as I never felt this way when I was a kid on a playground.

14. I'm not afraid of dying, I'm just not ready to do it yet.

15. I believe that multiple orgasms are my reward for PMS, childbirth and menopause.

Okay, that's 15 things you might not have known about me. I know I was supposed to only do 7, see # 2 above.  I am now supposed to nominate other bloggers for the award. I am going to respectfully decline that part, and instead refer you to my blog list.

I can not in good conscience pick just 15 blogs, I love them all. I read a diversity of blogs from vanilla to non. I read the blogs I do primarily because I like the energy of the person writing that particular blog. I feel a connection, a commonality with the people I read, that's why I read them. Everyone has a story to tell, if I'm reading yours it's because I find it interesting, informative, entertaining and stimulating. That's the recipe for good reading material if you ask me. So take some time and browse my list, you never know where you might find a kindred soul.

I couldn't pick just one faerie pic today, so you get two, enjoy.

    1. I am very comfortable with my body and being naked. Speaking in front of strangers...not so much.

Sometimes you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince charming!!! That's my story and I'm stickin to it, lol.

  3. Very insightful list. I love your faeries I'll take all you can give.

I really love your comment about not being able to pick just fifteen blogs. Like you I feel a connection to those I read and couldn't pick just fifteen.

You are a great writer Faerie and should do more of it.

    Have a great weekend.

    1. Thank you my friend, I hope your weekend is great too.

I've had my faerie pics for awhile now. Ever since you sent me the instructions on how to do pics. It is a part of the post that I love doing :)

Judgement of any kind, even positive stresses me out, so I don't do it. That falls under number 2 above, lol.

  4. 1, Oh yea--my first encounter with public speaking was in front of 300 people. I underestimated it lol.
    4, 6, 8, 13, 14...Have you been poking around in my head??
15 is goal for me lol.

    1. I would have passed out if I had to speak in front of that many people. Just being in a crowd of that many people might give me an anxiety attack.

Did I not comment on your post that the list of differences would be much smaller then the list of similarities? LOL.

15 is a great goal to have, I hope you achieve it :)

    2. Lol. If I am ever crazy enough to try another list (completely unnecessary now of course), I'll just do "the differences between faerie and I". One nice little paragraph!

  5. I can speak in public but I get terrified after. Isn't that the oddest thing? Agree and nodding my head on most of them. Also LOVE LOVE, bordering on adore the idea of floor to ceiling bookshelves. When I get a house I want a library room. :P (I also know what you mean about narrowing it down to 15 - I just picked a few and pointed to my blog roll lol)

    1. "applauds" for Addy, I'm totally terrified of public speaking and if I ever were forced to do it my escape plan is to start taking my clothes off, lol.

I love my bookcases and all my books. I find it very satisfying and comforting to see them everyday.

    1. Thank you, it's a bit unusual at least :D As my hair becomes more salt then pepper I thought it would become less noticeable, but not yet.

  7. See I would have to change number five around to say...I have never kept a plant alive more than 48 hours.

    1. hahaha me neither. I've killed every single one!!

    2. I have had plants, growing in pots on trellises that are up to 8' tall. The pots are so big and heavy that Musicman has to use a dolly to move them for me. Try as I might, many times, I can get nothing but weeds to grow in my gardens. Very frustrating.

  8. I have books in every nook and cranny of my house. If there is a second hand book sale I buy more but never throw away the old ones! I also once knocked the only plant I was babysitting off the 3rd floor of my apartment. It died, needless to say I DO NOT have a green thumb.

    1. I don't think I am physically capable of throwing a book away, lol. For years I had them in every nook and cranny too. It used to really irk Musicman, but since we got the house and I have the bookshelves it is much better.

  9. Thanks for the mention. I realise my blog's still listed as GENeration Sex on your blogroll. I'm sorry, I changed it quite a bit ago... I suppose it didn't get updated automatically, so you might want to do that via the gadget. or not. It doesn't bother me. I'm just letting you know. Lol.

And books. Yes. Tons. Love em.

And if you feel like the little kid, then I feel like the new kid. Happy to find more new kids to play with... cos i'm a little overwhelmed by the bigger kids who've been around longer.

    *hugs*

    1. Oh, and i kill ANY plant that has the misfortune of coming under my care. strange cos my mum has a really green thumb!!

    2. Hey, thanks for pointing that out to me about your blog title. I will try and get that updated for you.

So, new kid, wanna be friends? I'll lend you one of my books to read, lol.

I only do well with potted plants, outside is a totally different story.

    3. oh i think we're already friends! heck I'm looking at the same store where you buy your toys. lol

  10. Great list, im with you on the public speaking, i work in a school and can quite happily stand in front of 30 kids but in front of adults nope..hate it. Oh and my children say the same about my dog lol

I couldnt choose 15 blogs if i had to either because like you i have such a cross selection and they all appeal to me on some level hence why i have them on my blogroll.

    1. Thanks, public speaking is one of my top fears. One I have no intention of over coming any time soon. See, that kinda gets covered under number 2, lol.

I already picked once, hence the blogroll. I just can't narrow it down or single anyone out, I get something from all of them :)

  11. Thanks for sharing 15 things about yourself. I found #13 interesting. I'd always thought of you as a great blogger and I think your posts are engaging. I see many people reading and commenting, which would make me think you're one of the big kids and that everyone is very interested! :)

    1. Thanks Riley, I never said I had a valid reason for feeling that way, lol. I'm quite capable of being an irrational, emotional female :)

  12. I've never had a problem with public speaking but I HATE calling somebody on the phone. I can receive a call no problem, but placing the call and waiting for the phone to ring and waiting for them to answer and hoping I won't sound like an idiot or that my voice won't do something terrible when I start talking all becomes a terrible whirlwind of anxiety.

When I build my Forever House I'm including a library room. The Tampa IKEA has one on display and I always want to snuggle in it. Until I know I have no more moves in front of me, though, I'm thinking of taking the digital approach and replacing all my books with ebooks. Moving several hundred pounds of books is a lot harder than moving a laptop and a smartphone with hundreds of books on them. Isn't technology awesome?

I clearly need to peruse your blogroll more. Look out fellow faerie friends, you may have a new follower soon! ^_^

Enjoy perusing the blogroll, they are all great people :)

  13. faerie: Loved you list, especially your love of books. Great to hear that you will never get rid of your books.

And you are one of the Big Kids in the blogging world. I am sure you are an inspiration to many with the way you share the details of your life. Your blog is a must read.

And thanks for including my blog on your blogroll. I'm honored to be on your playground.

    1. Books are the one truly wonderful thing I carry from my childhood, I will never give them up.

One of the great things about this playground is that everyone plays so nicely together :) I'm flattered that you think my blog is a must read. It still surprises me that people do read it. I think I always will be surprised by it and I think that's a good thing.

  14. Yeah, I definitely identify with #13. Especially since I saw your post and didn't comment due to the cacophony already present. :) I feel much the same, I have a blog roll. BUT I use these things as a chance to highlight a few and annotate why I like them, which you don't get a chance to do in the blog roll.

    1. I'm happy you joined the conversation despite the din :)

I don't care for the word popular or popularity, and have no real interest in it. And,for me, perceived popularity does not necessarily translate into an equal level of security or self confidence. We all have doubts sometime, at least I do, lol.

  15. I love reading lists like this; I find them facinating.
I love to read too. Do you have a favorite genre and authors?
What Riley said about number 13. You're way up there with the big kids. I don't have a blog, but I'm glad you play with me anyway.

    1. I'm pretty open, I will play with just about anybody at least once :) How else would I make any friends? And you, my friend, are always welcome to come play here.
      Wanna borrow a book? LOL.

I read a wide range of books, but not romance novels. They bore me to tears. I love erotica or what Musicman calls smut, lol. I read biographies and humor and sci fi and medical mysteries and self help and inspirational and I could go on and on and on. Bet you wouldn't be surprised to know I have a faerie kindle skin on my kindle :)

  16. I love books too!

When my wife and I were getting settled after a move six years ago we were looking in older neighbourhoods where floor to ceiling, built-in shelves would be the norm.

We never did find one we liked.

I just had to get rid of some books because I ran out of places to put them. I think I took about 4 boxes to Goodwill.

    1. I love a lot of things about my house, but the wall of floor to ceiling bookshelves was really a strong selling point for me. I'm awful at getting rid of books, it's like parting with a friend :) The invention of the kindle has been a godsend, cause now when I get new books they aren't all over the house for Musicman to trip over, lol. Plus they have so many free deals, I've discovered tons of new authors that way.
