I'll Try Anything Once

In the comments of my last post Dee, from (D) for (D)esire, offered to make me a lexan paddle if I would make her a flogger. I love my flogger and would certainly recommend it to all my friends.

Abby at finalllyfindingme.blog suggested I say no to Dee's kind offer. She loves the flogger, but thinks the lexan should be avoided at all costs. However, tori at painspleasure.blogspot, says the lexan is yummy. Tori also points out that we are all different in what we like, so true.

My motto has always been I will try anything once, twice if it doesn't hurt too bad.  I noted in my reply to Dee that my definition of, "hurts too bad has changed lately."

I have always heard that there is a fine line between pleasure and pain. I never really ventured across that line. Pain never caused me pleasure, I never sought it out.  I understood, abstractly, that some people did experience pleasure from pain.  I was not one of those people.

I don't know when I crossed the line, but it sort of feels like I didn't just cross it, but I dove so far across it that I can't even see it anymore. I might have just erased it completely, I don't know why, or when that happened. I'm not sure I care.

It certainly opens a whole new world to explore. For instance, paddles and floggers. We only have a very few implements. A hairbrush and a wooden spoon and a flogger. We both love the flogger. Between the hairbrush and the spoon, Musicman prefers to use the hairbrush. I'm not sure why he doesn't use the spoon. I like them both and wish he would use the spoon more cause it does feel different.

I love the flogger anywhere and everywhere. He is a natural with it and uses it the most. I have noticed that while I do love the flogger, I sometimes crave something different. A different kind of pain. I crave the sting of the brush or the spoon. Or, the sharp smack from his hand.  I am curious about what a lexan paddle would feel like.

That thought boggles my mind a bit. Why am I now able to differentiate types of pain? Why do I sometimes want the soft thud of the flogger or sometimes the sharp sting of wood?  Maybe this is all a happy side effect of menopause. If it is going to make me moody, bitchy and weepy it might as well give me more oppurtunities to experience pleasure. Yeah, that sounds good, let's go with that!!

  2. You lovely lovely woman.

I dove right over that line too, and I didn't even know I was. "I am not a pain slut," I once wrote on my blog.... but.. I was. I just didn't know that what I was enjoying.. the way I was enjoying it, counted.

Somehow in my head pain slut was equated with needles and blood and deep, long lasting bruises. Not a few lovely smacks on the bottom and a few twisted nipples....

    1. I've read many people say they weren't a pain slut. I really had to think about it, but yeah, I guess I am, lol. Like I said, opened a whole new world to explore :)

I've got a gypsy soul and love to explore :) LOL...

  3. Mh, I wouldn't say I loooove pain, at the same time, I enjoy sex the most when DH has at least something stuck up my ass. The pressure it creates is just amazing. It almost hurts, but not really. Mhhhh, looking forward to tonight. And I need to go look what a lexan paddle is...

    1. I don't know why or when, but...um...yeah, I seem to be into the pain lately. I'm not so good at anal and have very little experience with it. Ya never know what will happen these days though, lol.

  4. Its a funny old thing the relationship between pain and pleasure, i think a lot of how we handle different pain with different implements is very much dependent on mood at that time, and the circumstances they are used in.

I find i handle pain a lot better when im highly aroused in the first place and kept in that state of arousal, i guess its finding that balance.

    1. We have had a few times when it didn't go so well, but it still seems very new too. I'm finding it kinda amazing actually, lol. Scary sometimes too!!!! Your right, just like everything else in life, it's about the balance :)

  5. I even crave the sharp sting of the feather duster (a crop like item) once in a while.

I am also on the try anything once bandwagon. I once said that I don't believe in cock worship in my blog and now apparently I am a cock worshipping sub. Hmmm....

    2. Kitty, I have said it before, but I am saying it again. I love you. This made me laugh so much and I told my husband "I love that girl so much!"

    3. I wouldn't be able to type the phrase I'm not a cock worshiping sub with a straight face, lol. :D I've always loved it and I don't deny it. Freaks people out sometimes, how readily I admit it. Haahaahaaa.

    4. Thanks girls!

I said that I was not going to call it worship, I was just going to call it what is was. A blow job. :)

  6. I understand what you said about wanting to experience different kinds of implements. I am the same way and so I bought a lexan paddle. Let me tell you it's like millions of bee stings. Never spanked with a hairbrush so I don't have a comparison but I would advise against the lexan -I can take about three or four and I'm done and my husband says I have a tough ass.

    1. Oooh, that does sound scary, lol. I don't know that I will ever REALLY try one, but I do admit to be curious. I love our hairbrush the spoon too. I caught myself drooling over a rubber spatula at the store the other day. I wasn't thinking about baking either, lol. I've clearly lost my mind :D

  7. Maybe, Cappysue, can make you a faerie size lexan; so, it's not as painful.
I don't know if you saw my comment; but, I went back to look at the miniature butt plugs. So funny.

    1. OMG!!! Great idea!!! She has quite some interesting things, doesn't she?

I checked out some of the BDSM stuff, I'm in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with it. There is a chain maille anklet with bells that I got my eye on. I am really taken with the chain maille jewelry. They have collars and cuffs and all sorts of stuff, lol.

  8. I think we all end up with things we know we like the best, implements that are okay and things that really don't like. I know I don't like the cane at all, hurts like hell and gives me no pleasure. For me lexan is the same - horrible and no pleasure. I'm a leather girl for sure, belt, flogger, strap, and our leather paddle. If you give it a try, be prepared to find a good hiding place!

    1. Oh, I'm already counting on hiding it if I don't like it, lol. We don't have many implements, but I haven't found one I don't like, yet.

I have no interest in even trying a cane. I saw some bamboo plant stakes that would be perfect and never even considered getting one. My leather paddle is half made, I need to get it finished :)

  9. Kiki's suggestion of a faerie sized lexan is great.

I do like it when he tries different implements and they really do each have a distinctive feel. I definitely feel like I have crossed the line and I didn't even know it was happening. TTWD is so interesting.

    1. Isn't it just hilarious?!!! I would love a faerie size paddle, of any kind, lol.

We haven't tried too many things, yet :) We have lots of time to explore though, lol.

  10. I have asked myself MANY of those same questions! I don't understand why all pain is not the same, but it really is not for me either! I love a hand or a paddle...don't come near me with wax or needles. It's curious, how we process. I assume association is a lot of it, but I couldn't say for sure. I've been quite curious about the lexan as well! Depending on which of us tries it first...that person can serve as the guinea pig ;)

    1. I couldn't do needles either, though wax on the other hand!!!! LOL. Tried it years ago, not too bad as I remember. Then again, it just dawned on me that I apparently don't mind needles in some context. I do have 8 tattoos. :D

If we ever really get a lexan and try it I'll let ya know.

  11. LOL..side effect of menopause..I will take a good side effect! i will take the wooden hair brush over that lexan paddle anytime. I don't understand my relationshipwith pain/pleasure, how can the pain enhance the pleasure. some things are not to be understood, just enjoyed! abby

    1. I mean really!!! Dontcha ya think there should be a few positives to menopause? I do, cause so much of it sucks, lol. It's like puberty the second time around
      :(

  12. Hmmm, I think I know what you mean. Believe it or not I actually suggested a wooden spoon after the paddle was, umm, not quite doing its job. The spoon is VERY stingy and left quite an impression on my overall attitude.

It's the same with you wanting to try something else. From what I've read on Dee's blog the Lexan is not as bad as some make it out to be. I guess it really depends on your personal pain tolerance and they way it is handled. That could be the difference right there.

I also love the idea of a flogger. We have a small one but I might ask MDK to drag that out. Let us know if you decide to go for the lexan!

    1. I'll definitely keep you all informed if we get one. There are so many things to try, lol. Where does one even start? LOL.

I was leery of making the flogger and let the leather sit for awhile. Once I did, I was thrilled not only with the way it turned out, but how great it feels.

  13. Love my floggers. I have tiger stripes across my back right now. I forgot to check my shirt to make sure they didn't show. Oops. I don't care for leather paddles at all or anything that resembles a belt. Messes with my head in a bad way.

    1. The belt is a definite NO for me too. I was fascinated and afraid of the flogger before we tried it. I loved it from the first stroke :D

  14. I am fortunate enough never to have experienced lexan, but it sounds horrible. If you get it, I hope you like it.

And if you get pleasure out of it, all the better. :D

  15. I love the way you write, you probably know that by now. And I'm jonesing for LEXAN!
    :)
There are many happy hidden secrets in menopause. If you don't let the media convince you you're unfuckable and keep yourself alive and hear the music and feel how your lust and love have grown. And take it on.

But it's fine if its our secret. It's more special.

I don't let the media convince me of anything, lol. It just seems like a shame to keep it a secret :D Seems like there are lots of unsuspecting women out there that should knows this stuff. Somehow, I don't think they would listen to me if I tried to tell them. Oh well, there loss, lol.
