Blinded

The snow continues to fall,
sideways,
because the winds continue to blow.

I'm a hothouse flower,
stuck in a northern tundra.

The days are short,
mostly gray.

I don't see fifty shades,
I see just one.

The one that blocks the sun.

By chance,
the sun burn's through the gray?

Reflections,
mirroring the whiteness,
surround,
over whelm.

Burned by the cold.
Blinded by the lack of color.

    1. Let's hope, though it does seem to be in the way too distant future right now.

  3. Beautiful poem Faerie! I can SO relate to this. Snow is falling once more around these parts. I saw some daffodils out in the market today. That has to be a good sign of things to come! Thanks for sharing. Many hugs,

    1. It is easier to count the days we don't have snow falling then the days we do. We are very close to having the snowiest year on record around here. That is not a record I hope we break.

  4. You use much nicer words to describe out weather than i do....but we share the same sentiment.

    1. Most times if I'm writing any kind of poetry it's because the words just pop into my head and torment me until I get them out. For me this poem is about a lot more than just the weather.

  5. Thanks for sharing your beautiful words Faerie.

It's supposed to warm up here by the end of the week but then it's supposed to be raining. :(

    Blessings...

    1. They were predicting a warm up for us too, but as the days go on that seems to be changing.

    1. I don't mind rain, you don't have to shovel that, but snow past my ass for months on end is just a huge drag.

  7. Hi Faerie, I'm sorry I have been a bit hit and miss in blogland lately and missed some of your previous posts.

Beautiful words. It's supposed to be summer here ... not that you would know it at the moment!

    Hugs,
    Roz

  8. Beautiful! I enjoy, usually, the snow since you can eventually see blue skies. Here it is grey, just grey, wet and gloomy. Hope spring comes soon for you.

    1. Grey is a great way to describe our weather too, unless you count the sea of white from all the snow.

    1. I never look for winter to be over until at least mid April. That's just the way it is here.
